The ancient late-summer fair of Polesine
Settembre Crespinese is the heart of the summer drawing to a close in Crespino, a municipality in Polesine, province of Rovigo, overlooking the great Po River. Its Fair is one of the most deeply rooted in the area: tradition links it to the third Sunday of September, a date that since the mid-19th century has marked the event, in memory of the consecration of the church of Saints Martino and Severo, which took place in 1829.
The fair transforms the town into a large festive space, with stalls, stands of typical products, and food stands, entertainment, and moments dedicated to the community. It is an occasion for residents of Polesine and visitors to meet, finding here the authentic atmosphere of village fairs of the past.
Amidst the countryside and the banks of the Po, the Fiera di Crespino tells the rural identity of this corner of the province of Rovigo. The patron saint of the town is San Martino, celebrated on November 11th, but it is the September fair that represents the most heartfelt collective celebration, capable of uniting historical tradition and community life.
The 2026 edition of Settembre Crespinese and the Fiera di Crespino will be held in September, in Polesine, province of Rovigo, according to the tradition linked to the third Sunday of the month. The detailed program and exact dates have not yet been published.
