The Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Fair, also known as Settembre Fiessese, is the historic fair of Fiesso Umbertiano, a municipality in the province of Rovigo in the Polesine region. With over 140 editions, it is one of the oldest and most deeply rooted fairs in the Rovigo area, linked to the feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the town's patron saint, celebrated on September 8th.
Funfair, Flavors, and Shows
For over ten days, the town is filled with a festive atmosphere: every evening, the large funfair and the food stand in Via Verdi offer traditional dishes from the Polesine region — mixed fried fish, truffle risotto, paella, cod, grilled meats, skewers, stuffed pasta, and porchetta. The program includes exhibitions, dance performances, demonstrations, clay pigeon shooting competitions, martial arts exhibitions, and the unmissable lottery with prizes.
September 8th Celebrations
The religious heart of the fair is September 8th, the feast of the Nativity of Mary: a morning mass, followed in the afternoon by a solemn mass with procession presided over by the Bishop of Adria-Rovigo. The event is coordinated by the Associazione Fiesso in Festa along with the municipal administration, and concludes with a solidarity dinner. An event that has marked the calendar of Fiesso Umbertiano and the entire Polesine for generations.

Fiesso Umbertiano is located in the Polesine region, in the province of Rovigo. By car from the A13 motorway (Occhiobello or Rovigo exit) or via the Via Eridania. The food stand is located in Via Verdi.
