Trail running race on the Path of the Gods in Agerola
The Sentiero degli Dei Trail is a trail running race that takes place in Agerola, a town in the Lattari Mountains overlooking the Amalfi Coast, in the province of Naples (Campania). The race takes its name from the famous hiking trail that connects the Agerola plateau to Nocelle, a hamlet of Positano: one of the most iconic naturalistic tracks in the world, suspended between sky and sea, with views stretching from the Lattari Mountains to the Faraglioni of Capri.
The start and finish are located in the Bomerano hamlet of Agerola, the historic access point to the Path of the Gods. The route, approximately ten kilometers long, winds along the mule track that runs halfway up the coast above the sea, touching the most evocative panoramic points in the area before reaching Nocelle. It is a technical yet accessible track, designed to welcome athletes of all levels, from competitive runners to amateurs who want to experience the Coast while running.
The event is organized by A.S.D. Atletica Eventi Run and is included in the 2026 regional UISP calendar, with the patronage of the Municipality of Agerola and CONI Campania. The initiative was born with the goal of enhancing the natural heritage of the Lattari Mountains through sport, while promoting slow tourism and the discovery of the villages of the Amalfi Coast.
Situated at over six hundred meters above sea level, Agerola is known as the "Switzerland of Campania" for its cool climate and pastures, but also for typical products such as fiordilatte and Provolone del Monaco. The race is an opportunity to combine sports activity with the discovery of a territory where the mountains meet the sea, in a setting capable of attracting hikers and enthusiasts from all over Italy and abroad.
The debut of the Sentiero degli Dei Trail recorded an excellent response from the public and participants. In the men's category, victory went to Pietro Acampora, ahead of Carmine Luce (Isaura Valle dell'Irno) and Aniello Pontecorvo. Among the women, Sonia Pane (Sorrento Running) won, followed by Consuelo Vocca (Salerno Marathon) and Speranza Romano. The event, organized by A.S.D.
