A Fair Over Six Centuries Old
Sensia — the Ascension Fair of Voghera, in the province of Pavia — is an event with roots dating back to 1372: according to local tradition, it is considered the oldest fair in Lombardy. Every year, coinciding with the Ascension holiday, the city transforms into a large space for meetings, commerce, and entertainment that attracts visitors from all over the Oltrepò Pavese and beyond.
What to Expect
The event takes place in the area of the former Cavalry Barracks, along Via Fratelli Kennedy, and extends to Piazzale Enrico Fermi for the agricultural section. For four days, you will find exhibition stands, market stalls, street food, tastings of local products, a large funfair, and a packed schedule of events including music, dance, sports, and cuisine.

An Event by the Municipality of Voghera
Sensia is organized by the Municipality of Voghera with the patronage of the Lombardy Region, the Province of Pavia, and the Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with FiereIn. Entry is free for the entire duration of the fair, which remains one of the identity events of the city and the entire Province of Pavia.
Sensia — edition 2026
The 642nd Ascension Fair of Voghera opens on Thursday, May 14, and continues until Sunday, May 17, 2026, in the area of the former Cavalry Barracks. For the 2026 edition, the artistic project «Skuloticity» by Maestro Stefano Bressani is presented. The funfair, exhibition stands, street food, and the agricultural fair in Piazzale Enrico Fermi over the weekend, featuring historic tractors and the latest generation machinery, are confirmed.
