The great international classical guitar on stage in Pordenone
Born in the name of the great Spanish guitarist who revolutionized the instrument's repertoire, the Segovia Guitar Week is now a regular fixture of the musical spring in western Friuli. Promoted by the Segovia Guitar Academy in collaboration with Polinote and with the patronage of the municipalities involved, the festival combines high-level dissemination, training, and international-level concerts. The twelfth edition runs from April 10 to May 22, 2026, in Pordenone, Sesto al Reghena, and Roveredo in Piano.
The program features performers from different continents: from the young Japanese talent Tohi Harada, who trained at the Royal Academy of Music in London, to the multi-award-winning Frenchman Gabriel Bianco, and the Serbian Uroš Jaćević. Historic venues, such as the Ex Convento di San Francesco in Pordenone and the Salone Abbaziale of Sesto al Reghena, offer settings of great acoustic and architectural charm.
The popular heart of the festival is 'La città delle Mille Corde' (The City of a Thousand Strings), a workshop that brings together about a hundred young guitarists for a large ensemble concert, a moment of collective celebration around the instrument. Alongside the concerts, the week offers masterclasses and workshops for students and enthusiasts, confirming the academy's educational mission.
Supported by the Municipality of Pordenone and local entities, the Segovia Guitar Week enhances the cultural sites of Friuli and transforms them into a stage for classical guitar. All events are free admission, a sign of a festival that puts music at the service of the community.
