Sardinian cuisine and traditions celebrated in Solaro
Sapori di Sardegna is the festival that, at the start of each summer, brings the scents and traditions of the island to Solaro, a municipality in the Metropolitan City of Milan. The event opens the calendar of Summer Festivals that liven up the equipped area of the sports centre in Corso Berlinguer, and is curated by the Circolo Sardo Grazia Deledda, one of the many associations that preserve the identity of Sardinian communities who have emigrated in Lombardy.
The heart of the festival is its gastronomy. The stalls offer the great classics of the island's cuisine: porceddu (roast suckling pig), malloreddus (Sardinian gnocchi), sheep and cheese specialities, and desserts like seadas. Each dish tells the story of a land and a culture, accompanied by Sardinian wines and a convivial atmosphere that attracts many visitors from the Saronnese area.
In addition to food, Sapori di Sardegna offers moments of music and culture linked to island traditions, in a festive atmosphere that brings together the Sardinian community of Solaro and many curious locals. It's a way to discover a rich and vibrant cultural heritage, far from the sea but close to the hearts of those who carry it with them.
Taking place in early June, Sapori di Sardegna kicks off the long season of festivals that characterises Solaro's summer, in Lombardy, lasting until mid-July with sagre (food festivals), patron saint festivals, and white nights.
The 2026 edition of Sapori di Sardegna opens the Solaro Summer Festivals calendar, from June 4th to 7th. The stalls of the Circolo Sardo Grazia Deledda offer the signature dishes of island cuisine โ porceddu, malloreddus, cheeses, and seadas โ accompanied by Sardinian wines and musical and cultural moments at the sports centre in Corso Berlinguer.
The event takes place over the four days from June 4th to 7th, with the opening of food stalls and initiatives related to Sardinian traditions. The detailed program, including any musical evenings, will be announced by the organisers closer to the event.
