The spiritual core of the festival is the solemn procession held on the final Sunday. The day begins at dawn with the traditional wake-up call marked by loud detonations, followed by the laying of wreaths at the war memorials, and culminates in the transport of the Macchina di Santa Corona, accompanied by the philharmonic band through the streets of the historic center. The solemn Eucharistic concelebration seals the most intense moment of reflection before the festivities resume with music and performances.

Santa Corona Festival — edition 2026
From June 9 to 14, 2026, Canepina celebrated its patron saint with a program that blended religious tradition, culture, and major musical events. The week opened with book presentations, theatrical shows, and dialect comedies, continuing with fashion shows, conferences, and concerts. The edition reached its peak on Saturday, June 13, with the free concert by The Kolors and on Sunday, June 14, with the solemn procession of the Macchina di Santa Corona, the Eucharistic concelebration, and the final fireworks display.

How to get there
Canepina is located in the Cimini Mountains, in the province of Viterbo. By car, it can be reached via the Via Cimina; from Rome, take the SS Cassia road to Viterbo and then follow the provincial roads towards the Cimini area (approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes from Rome). The reference train station is Viterbo, which is connected to Rome, from where you can continue by bus or car.
Admission and prices
Events take place in the town squares and are free of charge, including evening concerts. The procession and religious celebrations are open to everyone.
