The 44th Salt Cod Festival (2025)

From July 20 to 26, 2025, Sant'Omero, in the province of Teramo, hosted the 44th edition of its historic Salt Cod Festival, organized by the Pro Loco Sant'Omero APS. The 2025 edition also confirmed the UNPLI "Quality Festival" mark, a guarantee of authenticity and the bond with the Val Vibrata territory.

For an entire week, the historic center of the village came alive with the Pro Loco's food stalls, where salt cod was served in all its traditional preparations: spaghetti with salt cod, salt cod in tomato sauce with potatoes, roasted, fried, stewed, and with chickpeas. There was no shortage of wines from the Teramo Hills and live music evenings, which accompanied an event that has become a benchmark of the Abruzzo gastronomic summer.
