About Sant'Agata Walk

The Camminata di Sant'Agata is the non-competitive running march that is part of the celebrations for the centuries-old patronal Feast of Sant'Agata in Tezze, a hamlet of Arzignano. Through the streets of the village and the paths of the hills of West Vicentino, walkers of all ages follow the proposed routes in an atmosphere of celebration and popular devotion. It is one of the most attended moments of a tradition that in Tezze has its roots in 1413.

A walk in the sign of a centuries-old festival

In Tezze, a hilly hamlet of Arzignano in the province of Vicenza, the cult of Sant'Agata has been a living tradition for over six centuries: the patronal feast, documented since 1413, is among the oldest and most heartfelt in West Vicentino. Among the rich program of events, the Camminata di Sant'Agata stands out, the non-competitive running march that attracts walkers and families from all over the territory.

Between village and hills

The proposed routes wind through the streets of Tezze and the paths of the surrounding hills, offering panoramic views of the valley. Open to everyone, from trained runners to simple walking enthusiasts, the walk has no competitive purpose: participation, outdoor exercise, and the pleasure of sharing a day of celebration are what count.

Devotion and folklore

The walk takes place immersed in the atmosphere of the Feast of Sant'Agata, which in Tezze includes the solemn votive procession, the medieval market of typical products and crafts, medieval shows in the square, and the famous concert of the Tezze Bell Tower School. Walking during these days means crossing a town celebrating, where popular faith intertwines with the history and folklore of a community proud of its roots.
