The historic parade of flower-adorned floats celebrating the Riviera dei Fiori
Sanremo in Fiore is the historic event celebrating the city's floricultural vocation, the capital of the Riviera dei Fiori in the province of Imperia. The heart of the event is the Corso Fiorito, the parade of floats entirely decorated with fresh flowers, a tradition that has deep roots in Sanremo since the early twentieth century.
Along the Lungomare Italo Calvino, the large flower-adorned floats created by the local municipalities parade, accompanied by costumed groups, musical bands, and street artists. Each year, the parade follows a different theme, which inspires the decoration of the floats and the city's setup. It is a spectacle that attracts thousands of spectators and showcases the excellence of Ligurian floriculture.
Around the parade, the city comes alive with days of celebration during the Festival Flower: photographic exhibitions, floral art workshops, an international flower conference, a flower carpet display, and musical performances, including concerts by the Sanremo Symphony Orchestra. It's an opportunity to discover the city of Sanremo in its most colorful guise, in the heart of Ligurian spring.
The theme for the 2026 edition is Italian television: 'Che allegria! … tra emozioni, colori e trasmissioni' (What joy! … between emotions, colors, and shows), a tribute to the programs that have made TV history, from Mike Bongiorno to the Sanremo Festival. The 11 flower-adorned floats, created by the local municipalities, are dedicated to cult shows like the Sanremo Festival, Fantastico, Ballando con le stelle, and Quark.
The grand Corso Fiorito parade takes place on Sunday, March 29 at 10:30 AM along the Lungomare Italo Calvino, starting from Piazza Carlo Dapporto and proceeding to the Giardini Vittorio Veneto.
Sanremo has its own train station on the Genoa-Ventimiglia line (about a 20-minute walk from the parade route). By car, take the Sanremo exit on the A10 motorway. Paid parking is available in designated areas.
The parade along the seafront is free to attend; grandstands with seating may be available for a fee. Many events of the Festival Flower are free.
