A Tradition Linked to Corpus Domini
The Sangeminese Flower Festival is one of the most beloved and anticipated events in San Gemini, in the province of Terni. It takes place on the occasion of the solemnity of Corpus Domini and transforms the historic center into a large floral mosaic: the village streets are covered with petals for the procession's passage.
The Night of the Flower Artists
The work begins on Saturday afternoon and continues throughout the night: groups of flower artists, local associations, and schools patiently create designs, symbols, and sacred images using fresh flowers, petals, leaves, and dried and chopped plant materials. By Sunday dawn, the streets are ready to welcome the faithful and visitors.
The Procession and Awards
Sunday is dedicated to religious celebrations, with the Holy Mass and the solemn Corpus Domini procession that winds through the floral carpets. In the late afternoon, the awards for the most beautiful compositions are also presented. The Sangeminese Flower Festival, considered among the most evocative in central Italy, is an opportunity to discover the elegance of this Umbrian village and a tradition that combines devotion, ephemeral art, and community.
Sangeminese Flower Festival — edition 2026
The 29th edition of the Sangeminese Flower Festival takes place on June 6 and 7, 2026. Saturday, June 6, starting at 3:00 PM, the creation of the floral carpets on the village streets begins, a work that continues throughout the night. Sunday, June 7, the compositions welcome the faithful for the Holy Mass and the solemn Corpus Domini procession along the petal carpets, before the awards ceremony for the most beautiful flower arrangements.

- 3:00 PM — Start of the creation of floral carpets and artworks on the streets of the historic center

How to Get There
San Gemini (Terni) can be reached by car along the SS3 Flaminia or from the E45 highway (Terni exit). By train to Terni, then by bus to San Gemini.
