The great village festival of Brembate, with food, music, and tradition
In Brembate, a municipality in the Province of Bergamo on the Brembo river, the Sagra di San Vittore has been the most anticipated event of the year for decades. Now in its 32nd edition, it is organized by the Pro Loco Brembate e Grignano and is dedicated to the village's co-patron saint, San Vittore, after whom the historic sanctuary overlooking the Brembo river is named.
The festival is divided into two parts: one at the end of April and the beginning of May, and a second on the following weekend. The heart of the event is the Arena Civica, where the restaurant, barbecue, and pizzeria operate every evening, along with the bar. The program alternates gastronomic offerings, musical evenings, prize games, and entertainment for all ages.
Beyond the food, the Sagra di San Vittore retains a strong civic and cultural dimension. Among the most cherished moments are the awarding of scholarships to secondary school students and the presentation of the San Vittore Prize, the main local award dedicated to those who have distinguished themselves through merit and dedication to the community. Concerts and themed evenings are also included, such as the musical event at the sanctuary.
The slogan for the 2026 edition well summarizes the spirit of the event: "We don't want to be the only festival you attend, but the one you will remember." This is a way of reaffirming that, within the Lombard tradition of village festivals, the Sagra di San Vittore is not just about food and fun, but an occasion for gathering that brings together generations and associations from the Bergamo area.
The 32nd edition of the Sagra di San Vittore confirms the formula of two parts: from April 30 to May 3 and from May 7 to May 10, 2026. At the Arena Civica in Brembate, the restaurant, barbecue, and pizzeria operate every evening, with a bar and musical entertainment.
Among the most significant events of 2026: Thursday, May 7, the awarding of scholarships to secondary school students; Saturday, May 9, the third edition of "Ricordando Felice, Musica e Parole" at the small church of San Vittore; and the presentation of the San Vittore Prize. The slogan chosen for this year is "We don't want to be the only festival you attend, but the one you will remember."
The complete details of the musical evenings will be published by Pro Loco Brembate e Grignano closer to the event.
