The mid-August festival around the Sanctuary
The San Rocco Festivals are a traditional event in Ghedi (Province of Brescia), linked to the figure of San Rocco, invoked as a protector against epidemics. The festival takes place in mid-August around the Sanctuary of San Rocco, along Viale della Rimembranza, and combines the religious dimension with the convivial atmosphere of a large village festival.
Organized by the Pro Loco of Ghedi, the event offers a rich and varied program:
The San Rocco Festivals represent one of the most anticipated moments of the summer for Ghedi, when the community gathers around the Sanctuary for days of celebration, faith, gastronomy, and fun. The presence of typical dishes such as 'pane e salamina' and 'casoncelli' makes the event an opportunity to rediscover the traditional flavours of the Brescian plain.
The 2026 edition is expected on August 15th and 16th, according to the traditional recurrence, in Viale della Rimembranza, in the area of the Sanctuary of San Rocco. The Pro Loco of Ghedi offers food stalls with Brescian specialties (casoncelli, tagliata, pane e salamina), exhibitors, bouncy castles, guided tours of the Sanctuary, the mixed-breed dog race, and entertainment. The precise dates will be officially confirmed by the organizers.
The precise dates and times of the program are confirmed by the Pro Loco of Ghedi in the weeks prior.
Ghedi is located in the province of Brescia, south of the provincial capital, accessible from SP668 and SPBS343. The festival takes place in Viale della Rimembranza, in the area of the Sanctuary of San Rocco.
Free admission. Food stalls open on the festival days, in mid-August.
