Ferragosto evenings in Gaiarine with live music, food, and fireworks
The San Rocco Celebrations are the mid-summer event in Gaiarine, a municipality in the eastern Marca Trevigiana in the province of Treviso, a few kilometers from Conegliano and Sacile. For five evenings, around Ferragosto, the heart of the town โ Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II โ comes alive with music, gastronomy, and community moments.
The festival originated as a thank you tied to an ancient popular vow for the end of the plague: Saint Roch, invoked as a protector against epidemics, remains at the center of the celebration, with a mass in the church dedicated to him. Over time, a large town festival has developed around the religious dimension, curated by the Associazione Festeggiamenti San Rocco APS with the support of the parish and local organizations.
Each evening, the food stand offers traditional dishes and specialties such as chicken wings, while the stage hosts bands and cover groups. There are also football and cornhole tournaments, a raffle organized by the parish, a cooking workshop, and entertainment for the little ones. The Marchesin Memorial cycling race and the final fireworks display are among the most beloved moments by the residents of Gaiarine.
