About Saint Jerome Festival
A Festival with Centuries-Old Roots
The Saint Jerome Festival is the patronal feast of Nervesa della Battaglia, a municipality in the province of Treviso overlooking the Piave river and at the foot of Montello. Now in its 237th edition, it is one of the longest-running events in Veneto, and for decades it has been combined with the Festival of Mushrooms and Chicken, which has become its gastronomic hallmark.
Chicken and Mushrooms, Stars of the Table
The heart of the festival is the food: the specialty is chicken marinated for 24 hours in two special brines and served with mushrooms, along with the famous ox cheeks. The food stands, managed by volunteers from the Pro Loco of Nervesa della Battaglia, attract thousands of gourmets from the Treviso area and beyond every year.
More Than Just Gastronomy
The program is rich and varied: dancing evenings with orchestras, the historic Bird Fair, the dog show, the market exhibition, and guided excursions to the Great War sites of Montello and along the Piave. A blend of popular tradition, faith, and fun for all ages.
A Community Celebration
Supported by about a hundred volunteers and the municipal administration, the Saint Jerome Festival is the main autumn event in Nervesa della Battaglia. For visitors to the Treviso area, it is the ideal opportunity to discover the authenticity of a Veneto made of local festivals, typical products, and landscapes between hills and river.
Saint Jerome Festival — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of the Saint Jerome Festival (237th) and the Festival of Mushrooms and Chicken (47th) returns to Nervesa della Battaglia (TV) at the end of September, around the patron saint's day of September 30th.
The Pro Loco of Nervesa della Battaglia is reviving the event's historic format, supported by about a hundred volunteers. The precise dates and detailed program will be announced by the Pro Loco in the weeks preceding the event.

The usual structure of the festival includes several days of celebration with: food stands (chicken marinated for 24 hours with mushrooms, ox cheeks), dancing evenings with orchestras, the Bird Fair, the dog show, the market exhibition, and guided excursions on Montello and along the Piave.
