Live music, Matese flavors, and children's games along the Percorso delle Acque

San Potito Vibes is the late-summer festival held in San Potito Sannitico, a small town in the province of Caserta, Campania, nestled on the slopes of the Matese Massif and within the Matese Regional Park. Established in 2024 by the local Pro Loco and supported by the Municipality of San Potito Sannitico, the festival has quickly carved out a recognizable spot in the Alto Casertano summer calendar, during that early September weekend when many Matese towns bid farewell to the summer season.
The heart of the event is the Percorso delle Acque, a landscaped green area located next to Piazza Porta Agricola at the town entrance. It is an open, shaded, and flat space that, on festival nights, fills with tables, lights, and a stage: a solution that allows it to host audiences of all ages without closing off the town center, offering visitors an immediate connection with the Matese landscape, characterized by springs, canals, and mountains that frame the horizon.
The format, which has remained consistent since the first editions, features a musical performance every evening starting around 8:30 PM, immediately after the food stalls open. Rather than a lineup of big names, it features a selection of cover bands and local groups, chosen to get families and young people dancing and singing:
The choice to focus on tributes and folk music is consistent with the festival's spirit: an event designed for the community, where the audience knows the songs and participates rather than just watching.
Next to the stage are the food stalls, run by local businesses and associations from the Matese area. Previous editions have featured pizzerias, lounge bars, farms, and the Tartufai del Matese (Matese Truffle Hunters), highlighting that this part of the Alto Casertano is a land of truffles, mountain cheeses, and cured meats. Dining is outdoors, with dishes served in an informal style at village-festival prices: it is the part of the evening that precedes and accompanies the concert, making San Potito Vibes a small culinary itinerary for those arriving from outside the area.
A feature that distinguishes San Potito Vibes from many other festivals is the afternoon slot dedicated to children and teenagers. From the late afternoon, before the stage lights turn on, the festival area hosts sports activities and games organized by local clubs: soccer, volleyball, cycling, and table tennis have enlivened past editions thanks to Matese associations. This is a deliberate choice by the organizers, who want to make the event a meeting point for the entire community rather than just an evening appointment for adults.
Those visiting the Matese in September will find mild temperatures, accessible trails, and lively towns. San Potito Sannitico is just a few kilometers from Piedimonte Matese and a short distance from the park's lakes and plateaus: combining an afternoon of hiking with an evening of music and local products is the most natural way to discover this corner of inland Campania. The festival has free admission and requires no booking: just show up, find a spot along the Percorso delle Acque, and let the program guide you.
With only two editions behind it, San Potito Vibes is a work in progress: the format is not yet set in stone, and each year the Pro Loco introduces variations in the musical lineup and side activities. For this reason, it is advisable to check dates and the program on the organizers' official channels before setting off.
At the time of verification, there are no announcements, flyers, or notices regarding a new edition of San Potito Vibes in San Potito Sannitico, in the province of Caserta. The event, which reached its second edition in 2025, does not yet have a published calendar for 2026.
Based on the 2024 and 2025 editions, the event should take place on the first weekend of September and span three days, with food stalls opening in the evening, a concert each night featuring cover bands and local Matese groups, and an afternoon dedicated to games and sports activities for children and teenagers.
This page will be updated as soon as the 2026 dates and program are made public.
