About San Piero Festival

At the end of June, Montegrotto Terme celebrates its patron saint with the Sagra de San Piero, the feast in honour of Saint Peter the Apostle. For two consecutive weekends, the centre of the spa town in the Euganean Hills comes alive with food stalls, an artisan market along Viale Stazione and Via Claudiana, musical evenings, games, and community gatherings, culminating in a grand final fireworks display. Organised by the Parish of Saint Peter the Apostle with the Municipality, it is the town's identity festival.

The feast of Montegrotto's patron saint

The San Piero Festival is the patronal feast of Montegrotto Terme, a spa town in the Euganean Hills in the province of Padova, dedicated to Saint Peter the Apostle, the town's patron saint, celebrated on June 29th. It is the community's most cherished event, spread over two consecutive weekends at the end of June.

Food stalls and artisan market

The heart of the festival are the food stalls, open in the evenings, offering traditional dishes and local flavours. Along Viale Stazione and Via Claudiana, an artisan market unfolds, while evenings of music, dancing, and games liven up the squares. The festival also features a charity raffle and entertainment for all ages.

The grand finale with fireworks

The traditional fireworks display, eagerly awaited by young and old, concludes the celebrations, illuminating the sky of the spa town on the final evening. The San Piero Festival is organised by the Parish of Saint Peter the Apostle in collaboration with the Municipality of Montegrotto Terme.

Tradition and community in the Euganean Hills

More than just an event, the San Piero Festival is a moment of collective identity: it combines the religious dimension of the patronal feast with the conviviality of a village festival, in a town known throughout Europe for its thermal spas and the natural setting of the Euganean Hills.
