About San Biagio Festival

The San Biagio Festival is the big winter celebration of the hamlet of Prova di San Bonifacio, in the Veronese area: two weekends between late January and early February under the heated marquee, featuring the Gran Gnoccolata, live music every evening, themed evenings, carnival, and the traditional blessing of the throat of San Biagio. A historic event, now in its 158th edition, organized by the parish and the Festival Committee with the patronage of the Municipality of San Bonifacio and the Province of Verona.

A tradition spanning over a century and a half

The San Biagio Festival is one of the most deeply rooted events in Prova, a hamlet of San Bonifacio in the province of Verona. Now in its 158th edition, the festival accompanies the community through the heart of winter with two weekends of celebration under a large heated marquee in Via Prova.

Between gnocchi, music, and carnival

The program alternates gastronomy and entertainment: it opens with the renowned Gran Gnoccolata, continues with live music every evening (tribute bands, orchestras, and DJ sets), an evening dedicated to children, a paella night by reservation, and the Carnival parade. The closing, on the day of San Biagio, features the traditional blessing of the throat, a rite linked to the patron saint of the throat, particularly cherished in the Veronese region.

A community celebration

Organized by the parish of Prova and the Festival Committee, with the patronage of the Municipality of San Bonifacio and the Province of Verona, the festival is a gathering point for the entire community: the proceeds support parish activities and local initiatives.
