The centuries-old fair of Castelbaldo, featuring a market, gastronomy, and culture
The Saint Valentine's Fair in Castelbaldo, in the lower Padua region, is one of the oldest fairs in the Veneto: its tradition dates back to the early 1700s and in 2026 it will reach its 315th edition. Originally a commercial and trade fair, over the centuries it has acquired a religious, cultural, and popular festival dimension, becoming the town's defining event.
For nine days, the centre of Castelbaldo is transformed: the market exhibition with various products occupies Piazza Resistenza, while Via Garibaldi hosts the Pro Loco's stand with fritters, sandwiches, and drinks. There is also a funfair for all ages, photographic and art exhibitions, live performances, dynamic model cars, the Palio & Archers village, and the "San Prosdocimo" food stand.
The connection with Saint Valentine is renewed in the solemn Holy Mass with the traditional kissing of the relic, while its February timing links the fair with Carnival, featuring allegorical floats and activities for all ages. Organized by the Pro Loco of Castelbaldo, in the province of Padua, the fair is a living testament to how a centuries-old event can renew itself while remaining the beating heart of the community.
The three hundred and fifteenth edition of the Saint Valentine's Fair runs from February 7th to 15th, 2026, in the historic centre of Castelbaldo. For nine days, the town celebrates its defining festival, blending commerce, faith, culture, and entertainment. Highlights include the market exhibition in Piazza Resistenza, photographic and art exhibitions, the Palio & Archers village, dynamic model cars, the funfair, food stands, the solemn Holy Mass with the kissing of Saint Valentine's relic, and Carnival with allegorical floats.
