The spring festival of Conche
The Saint Joseph's Festival is one of the most cherished events in the hamlet of Conche, in Arzignano, province of Vicenza. Now in its 98th edition, it's a spring festival with a family and popular character, which each year attracts residents and visitors from the West Vicenza area for a Sunday of celebration in the village.
Games, music, and fun
The program is designed primarily for families and children: baby dance, street games, and the traditional 'Ciapa la Cuccagna' — the classic greasy pole competition — mark the festive afternoon, in a cheerful and engaging atmosphere that is the hallmark of Venetian village festivals.
Street food
The food stand is open throughout the festival. In recent years, specialties have ranged from the most delicious street food — pulled pork and porchetta wraps — to typical dishes of Venetian tradition, such as fried polenta and 'polenta concia'. Conche is a hamlet of Arzignano (VI), reachable in a few minutes from the town center. Arzignano can be reached from the A4 motorway (Montecchio Maggiore exit) and the SP246 of the Agno Valley.
