About Bean Festival
Saint Gottard and the bean, two souls of a single festival
The Saint Gottard Festival is the patronal feast of Bagnolo di Po, a small municipality in the province of Rovigo, in the Polesine region. For some years, the religious celebration has been enhanced by the Bean Festival, dedicated to one of the most typical products of the local countryside, transforming the event into a keenly felt gastronomic occasion.
The food stand
The heart of the festival is the covered and heated stand set up at the sports facilities on Via Napoleonica, open every evening from 7:30 PM. Alongside traditional Venetian dishes, there are always beans in all their variations, along with pinzin (fried dough) with cured meats, homemade first courses, and desserts. The kitchen is managed by volunteers from the Pro Loco of Bagnolo di Po.
Faith, music, and international friendship
On May 5th, the patron saint's day, the Solemn Holy Mass is held, followed by a procession through the village streets. The evenings are enlivened by dance orchestras and musical groups, while the final Sunday features a spritz party and a lottery draw. In recent years, the festival has consolidated a friendship with the community of Kirchberg im Wald, in Germany, whose delegates visit Polesine to participate: a twinning born from relations between the parishes that the administration hopes to make official.
Bean Festival — edition 2026
From April 30th to May 5th, 2026, Bagnolo di Po celebrates the Saint Gottard Festival with the Bean Festival. The covered and heated stand at the Via Napoleonica sports facilities opens every evening from 7:30 PM with traditional Polesine dishes and the local bean as the star. On May 5th, the patron saint's day, a solemn mass and procession are scheduled. The presence of delegates from Kirchberg im Wald, German friends of the town, is confirmed again this year.

How to get there
Bagnolo di Po can be reached by car from the SS434 Transpolesana (exit for Trecenta / Bagnolo). The stand and events take place at the sports facilities on Via Napoleonica.
