Edition 2025 — Saint Giulia Feast
The 2025 edition of the Salisano Summer took place from August 12 to 18 in the historic center of Salisano, in the province of Rieti, with the traditional program of festivities in honor of Saint Giulia, patron saint of the Sabina village. The local press reported a calendar full of events: food festivals, poetry competitions with the award ceremony for "Salisano in Poetry" on August 9, children's entertainment, sports and card tournaments, concerts, and performances.
The highlight took place on Saturday, August 16, with the maccheroni a fezze festival, the village's signature pasta known locally as jacculi: hand-pulled with oil, worked into long strands, and coiled into skeins using the elbow, it was served "in bianco" with DOP Sabina extra virgin olive oil and local cheese or dressed with wild boar, mutton, and tomato sauces. The festivities concluded over the weekend with the procession and mass in honor of the patron saint.
