The patronal festival of Vissone

In Vissone, a hamlet of the Municipality of Pian Camuno in the province of Brescia, the Festa di San Bernardino is the event of the year. Dedicated to the patron saint, it combines a religious dimension with a true community celebration that spans almost two weeks, from the prelude at the end of May to the first days of June, enlivening the historic centre and the village's sports field.

Between faith and village festival

The festival opens with the Holy Mass, Eucharistic adoration, and procession dedicated to Saint Bernardino. In the following days, the program changes face and becomes a popular festival: food stalls, craft markets, traditional games, street artists, concerts, and dancing evenings alternate until late at night. There are also cultural moments, with meetings and book presentations, and events designed for families and children.

The most anticipated moments

Among the events that the community of Vissone never misses: the concert by the Camunian Young Orchestra on the churchyard, the dialect theatre performance during the Children's Festival, the evenings with DJs and ballroom dancing, and above all the fireworks display that beautifully concludes the festive part. The event concludes with mass and the volunteers' lunch, the true organisational heart of the festival.

A tradition of Valle Camonica

Organised by the Associazione Culturale Sanbe together with the parish and the Municipality of Pian Camuno, the Festa di San Bernardino is much more than a local festival: it is the moment when the hamlet of Vissone comes together around its traditions, in a balance of devotion, conviviality, and fun that characterises many patronal festivals in the lower Valle Camonica.
