The patronal feast of Roveredo in Piano with spit-roasted chicken and concerts
In Roveredo in Piano, in the province of Pordenone, the Saint Bartholomew Festival is the great summer patronal feast. Dedicated to Saint Bartholomew the Apostle, the patron saint celebrated on August 24th, the festival transforms Piazza Roma and the town centre into a meeting point for the entire community and for many visitors from the area.
For several days, amidst gastronomic evenings, music, and activities for all ages, Roveredo experiences one of the most anticipated moments of its calendar.
The specialty that has made the festival famous is the spit-roasted chicken, cooked according to tradition and now the iconic dish of the feast. Alongside the food stalls, other offerings include gnocchi with bison ragù, grilled meats, frico with polenta, and fried calamari: a culinary journey that combines Friulian cuisine with more convivial dishes.
The evenings are enlivened by concerts by cover bands dedicated to music legends – from Vasco Rossi to AC/DC, and Jovanotti – and by DJ sets during the "Aperisagra" events. There is also a children's area and sports activities, making the festival suitable for families and young people.
The festival is organised by the Pro Loco of Roveredo in Piano (Pro Roveredo) with the support of the Municipality of Roveredo in Piano and in conjunction with the parish of Saint Bartholomew. A celebration that blends devotion, good food, and the desire to be together, in the heart of the Pordenone summer.
The Saint Bartholomew Festival is also expected in 2026 in Roveredo in Piano, during the usual period in August around the patronal feast day of August 24th, with Piazza Roma as the heart of the event. The spit-roasted chicken, the festival's signature dish, and other traditional dishes are confirmed, accompanied by evening concerts by cover bands, DJ sets, a children's area, and sports activities.
The exact dates and program will be announced by the Pro Loco of Roveredo in Piano in the weeks preceding the event.
