The patronal festival and the Autumn Fair of Lomellina
The Sagra di Garlasco is the patronal festival dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Assumption, the town's patron saint. It takes place on the second Sunday of September and is one of the most cherished events in Lomellina, a land of rice paddies in the province of Pavia. A rich programme of events involving the entire community unfolds around the religious celebration.
The secular heart of the sagra is the Autumn Fair, which enlivens Piazza Garibaldi, Via Piave, Via Don Gennaro, and Via Don Balduzzi with a variety of offerings:
The event confirms itself as a traditional appointment that intertwines faith, commerce, and social life, enhancing the historic centre of Garlasco and its gastronomic excellences.
The 2026 edition takes place from Friday 11 to Sunday 13 September, culminating in the patron saint's festival, the Blessed Virgin Assumption, on Sunday the 13th. The Autumn Fair enlivens Piazza Garibaldi, Via Piave, Via Don Gennaro, and Via Don Balduzzi with food and wine stalls, artistic crafts, antiques, and exhibitions, in a festive weekend for the entire community of Garlasco.
Garlasco is located in the province of Pavia, along the SS596 dei Cairoli, and is served by the railway station on the Mortara-Pavia line. The sagra takes place in the historic centre, largely pedestrianised during the event.
