Four evenings of music and flavours in the heart of Valpolicella
The Sagra di Castelrotto enlivens the hamlet of the same name in San Pietro in Cariano, in the province of Verona, in the heart of the Valpolicella region, every June. Founded in 2007, it has become a regular fixture of the Veronese summer over the years: four consecutive evenings of music, food, and popular celebration in one of the most picturesque hillside villages in the Amarone area.
The heart of the festival is the stage. Each evening, a different band or DJ performs, ranging from '70s-'90s pop-rock to dance music, from Italian songs to soul-funk, catering to an audience of all ages. The evenings unfold in an informal atmosphere, with the dance floor filling up until late at night under the Valpolicella stars.
Alongside the music, gastronomy takes centre stage: the food stand offers traditional Veronese and Veneto dishes, from grilled meats to polenta, accompanied by local wines. The festival maintains the authentic spirit of village celebrations, where locals and visitors gather to share an outdoor dinner and a concert.
Castelrotto is a small hillside hamlet of San Pietro in Cariano, a municipality located in the heart of the Valpolicella Classica appellation, home to great Veronese red wines such as Amarone and Recioto. Participating in the festival is also an opportunity to discover an authentic corner of this territory, amidst vineyards, Venetian villas, and Romanesque churches.
The 2026 edition of the Sagra di Castelrotto takes place over four consecutive evenings, from June 11 to 14, at Via Castello in Castelrotto, a hamlet of San Pietro in Cariano. Each evening, a different musical group accompanies the festivities, alongside the food stand offering traditional Veronese dishes and Valpolicella wines.
Food stand open every evening with traditional Veneto dishes.
Castelrotto is located in San Pietro in Cariano (VR), in Valpolicella, about 15 km from Verona. By car, it can be reached from the SS12 or from the Verona Nord motorway exit (A22). The festival venue is at Via Castello, 3.
In June, over four evenings. Free admission, food and drinks payable at the stand.
