The Festeggiamenti di San Bartolomeo Apostolo, known to all as Sagra di Camino, are the most cherished summer event in the hamlet of Camino, in Oderzo, in the province of Treviso. The festival revolves around the liturgical feast day of the patron saint, Saint Bartholomew, which falls on August 24th, and extends for about ten days around that date.
Tradition and community
The festival has ancient roots and in its modern form dates back to 1968; since 2010 it has been organized by the Associazione Parrocchiale San Bartolomeo (APSB), which brings together the village volunteers. It is a community festival, in which the entire hamlet mobilizes to set up the food stands and welcome visitors who also come from the neighboring municipalities of the Opitergino-Mottense area.
Gastronomy, music, and fireworks
The heart of the festival is the evening food stand, with typical Venetian cuisine dishes served at tables or for takeaway. The evenings come alive with live music, rock bands, karaoke, and DJ sets, culminating in the traditional fireworks display that concludes the festivities.
