The Chiesanuova Festival
The Sagra della Madonna del Colera is the historic festival of the hamlet of Chiesanuova, in San Donà di Piave, in the province of Venice. Its name evokes an ancient popular devotion linked to the epidemics that struck the area in past centuries. Today it is a great community festival that takes place in Piazza Garibaldi, between the end of August and the first days of September.
Great Venetian Cuisine
The real star is the food stand, which every evening from 7:00 PM offers the most beloved dishes of the local tradition: gnocchi (with ragù, duck sauce, or tomato sauce), braised donkey, tripe alla parmigiana, fried fish, cod in various versions, and grilled meats. Abundant and genuine cuisine, capable of attracting visitors from all over eastern Veneto.
Music, Shows, and Games
From 9:00 PM, the square fills with music: evenings with orchestras, live bands, and dance shows, but also theatre, a photographic exhibition, a market, bouncy castles for children, a dart tournament, and a tresette competition. A varied offering that entertains all age groups.
The Grand Fireworks Finale
The festival concludes with an eagerly awaited fireworks display that lights up the Chiesanuova sky, sealing weeks of popular celebration and conviviality.
Sagra di Chiesanuova — edition 2026
For 2026, the Sagra della Madonna del Colera enlivens Piazza Garibaldi in Chiesanuova from August 22 to September 2. As tradition dictates, every evening the food stand offers typical dishes, while the square fills with music, dance, shows, and games for all ages, culminating in the grand fireworks finale.

The detailed program will be released in the weeks leading up to the event. The usual structure includes every evening:
- 7:00 PM — Opening of the food stand (gnocchi, braised donkey, tripe, fried fish, cod, grilled meats), bouncy castles, market, charity raffle, and photographic exhibition
- 9:00 PM — Musical evenings with orchestras and live bands, dance and theatre shows
- Dart tournament and tresette competition on dedicated evenings
The festival concludes with the final fireworks display.
