The polenta festival

In Bregnano, a Municipality in the Province of Como, the Sagra della Polenta is an autumn tradition that has been renewed for decades. Organized by Pro Loco Bregnano, it celebrates the signature dish of Lombard peasant cuisine, polenta, around which a rich program of dinners, music, and conviviality takes place at the Municipal Polyfunctional Center.

A widespread festival

Over the years, the event has evolved into a "Sagra Diffusa della Polenta", which involves local restaurants in a culinary journey: polenta is offered in many variations, from classic traditional recipes to more creative interpretations. This is a way to promote not only the product but also the entire local restaurant scene in the town and surrounding areas.

Weeks of taste and music

The festival is spread over several weekends, generally between late September and October, with food stands, musical evenings, and entertainment. It is a village festival in the truest sense: families and friends gather around tables, enjoying portions of polenta and evenings of dancing, in an atmosphere that smells of autumn and tradition.

Bregnano and Como tradition

The Sagra della Polenta is a piece of the identity of Bregnano and the Province of Como, where polenta remains a deeply rooted food in the collective memory. Thanks to the commitment of Pro Loco volunteers, the festival continues to attract visitors from all over the region, confirming itself as one of the longest-standing and most heartfelt gastronomic events of the Como autumn.
