The Madonna Fredda of Solagna

The Sagra della Madonna Fredda e del Mandorlato is the ancient festival that every December 8th, on the feast day of the Immaculate Conception, enlivens the village of Solagna, in the province of Vicenza, at the foot of the Grappa Massif. A celebration that intertwines the community's deep Marian devotion with the gastronomic tradition of Venetian mandorlato.

Faith, market, and mandorlato

The day begins with the solemn Mass at 10:30 AM accompanied by the choir of Santa Giustina; in the afternoon, vespers and the evocative historical religious procession with the band of Campolongo sul Brenta. Along the streets of the center, stalls with typical products, crafts, and mandorlato, the true star of the festival, along with music, workshops, exhibitions, and theatrical performances. The Pro Loco sets up a food stand near the church of Santa Giustina offering tripe, musetto (veal cheek), and sauerkraut, while the Alpini group offers its stand at the station, and a funfair animates the area near the gym.
