Scarpinòcc, a dish that tells the story of Parre

The Sagra degli Scarpinòcc is the festival that every August celebrates in Parre, in Val Seriana, province of Bergamo, the dish that bears the name and identity of the village: scarpinòcc. It is a stuffed pasta with an elongated shape, similar to a small shoe – hence the dialectal name – with a filling based on cheese, breadcrumbs, and spices, seasoned with melted butter and cheese. A recipe from the Bergamascan peasant tradition, guarded and passed down by the community.

One of the longest-running festivals in the Bergamo area

Organized by the Pro Loco Parre, the festival is a historic event: in 2025, the 59th edition was held, and in 2026, the festival will reach its 60th edition. This continuity makes it one of the most established gastronomic events in the province of Bergamo, capable of attracting thousands of visitors every year from Val Seriana and beyond.

Three days of celebration at Pala Don Bosco

The festival takes place at the Pala Don Bosco of the Oratorio, on Via Duca d'Aosta in Parre Sopra, a covered venue that allows guests to be welcomed regardless of the weather and without the need for reservations. The kitchens open every evening to serve scarpinòcc and other traditional dishes, while live orchestras accompany the evenings with music and dancing.

The parade and community spirit

Among the most cherished moments is the traditional parade that crosses the village starting from Piazza San Rocco. The Sagra degli Scarpinòcc is not just a celebration of taste: it is the moment when Parre comes together around its identity, enhances a unique product, and welcomes visitors with the typical hospitality of Val Seriana.
