Sagra de Lu Gnummariedd Festival

Fifth edition — May 25 and June 1, 2025

The fifth edition of the Sagra de Lu Gnummariedd was held in Borgo Ajeni, in the historic center of San Michele Salentino, over two Sundays: May 25 and June 1, 2025. The event, brought forward compared to previous years (which took place in summer), was paired with the ninth Car Fair.

The first day opened at 7:00 PM with a focus dedicated to "The Gnummariedd and Gastronomic Tourism", with the participation of Mayor Giovanni Allegrini and representatives from the production and association sectors; followed by folk music performances from 8:30 PM. On June 1st, the evening continued with tastings and live music. The protagonists were the town's historic butcher shops — from Macelleria Chiese, active since 1896, to Fratelli Calvelli, Fratelli Apruzzi, and Urgesi Stefano — guardians of the gnummariedd recipe, a lamb or kid offal roll cooked over embers, a De.Co. product of the Municipality of San Michele Salentino.
