The Run for the Heart of San Bonifacio
In San Bonifacio (province of Verona), on Valentine's Day, not only love is celebrated, but also heart health. The Run for the Heart is a non-competitive fun run created to raise citizens' awareness about the importance of preventing cardiovascular diseases, the leading cause of mortality in Italy.
Sport and prevention together
The 5 km route, which can be repeated up to three times for the fittest, winds through the city streets, starting and finishing at the Fracastoro Hospital. At the end of the run, participants can undergo free electrocardiograms and receive informational material on prevention: a concrete way to combine physical activity with health awareness.
A network of volunteers and doctors
The event is promoted by the UOC Cardiology of the Fracastoro Hospital, directed by Dr. Maurizio Anselmi, in collaboration with the Sports Groups Tre Contrade Coalonga and Valdalpone, with the support of the Fondazione per il Tuo Cuore. Alongside the run, a round table delves into the topics of prevention and care. An event that unites medicine, sport, and community in the spirit of solidarity.
Run for the Heart — edition 2026
The 4th Run for the Heart was held on Saturday, February 14, 2026, on Valentine's Day, in San Bonifacio. Meeting at 1:30 PM in the atrium of the Fracastoro Hospital and starting at 2:00 PM for a 5 km city route, repeatable up to three times. Afterwards, free electrocardiograms and distribution of informational brochures on cardiovascular disease prevention. From 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, in the Conference Room, the round table "We can all prevent and treat cardiovascular diseases". Registration fee: €2 for FIASP/UVM members, €3 for non-members.

How to get there
Meeting point in the atrium of the Fracastoro Hospital in San Bonifacio (VR), reachable by train (Milan-Venice line) and from the Soave-San Bonifacio highway exit (A4).
Registration
Fee €2 for FIASP/UVM members, €3 for non-members (insurance coverage). Free electrocardiograms at the finish.
