About RUFA Culture Fest

The RUFA Culture Fest invites the public to explore the Libetta Campus of the Rome University of Fine Arts in Rome's Ostiense district, transforming the Academy's classrooms and spaces into a sprawling exhibition for five days. Through exhibitions, immersive installations, performances, and prototypes, the event showcases the work of young talents across art, design, cinema, fashion, comics, photography, and digital media. Admission is free, and the closing night pays tribute to Claudio Coccoluto and the legendary Goa Club.

The festival that opens the Academy to the city

The RUFA Culture Fest is the event through which the RUFA - Rome University of Fine Arts opens the doors of its Via Giuseppe Libetta Campus, in the heart of the Ostiense district of Rome. For five days, the Academy's classrooms, workshops, and common areas are transformed into a widespread exhibition, designed to share the creative energy that fuels university life every day. It is an invitation to the city to step directly into the heart of the creative process and discover the visions of the young talents who will shape the art of tomorrow.

A collective narrative across arts and disciplines

The program weaves art, design, cinema, fashion, photography, video games, and contemporary languages into a single choral narrative. Fashion engages with comics and performance, gaming translates design into virtual and augmented environments, while multimedia languages and artificial intelligence open new possibilities for experience and storytelling. Visitors will encounter exhibitions, immersive installations, performances, and prototypes created by students from various courses.

Exhibitions across the Campus

  • Game + Design: Augmented Exhibition โ€” virtual and augmented reality experiences.
  • Graphic Design: Visions of Tomorrow โ€” graphic design facing artificial intelligence.
  • Visual and Innovation Design: Tracks of Freedom.
  • Multimedia Design and Creative AI: Coppelia Re_Framed.
  • Visual Arts: Tricksters.
  • Fashion + Comics + Set Design: Re-Circular Roma.
  • Cinema + Film Arts + Photography and Audiovisual โ€” the winners of RUFA On Screen.

A tribute to Claudio Coccoluto and the Goa Club

The final Friday evening is dedicated to a tribute to Claudio Coccoluto and the historic Goa Club, which for over twenty-six years was a temple of Roman musical avant-garde right on Via Libetta, in the very spaces that now house the RUFA Campus. The tribute, conceived as a collective experience where memory, sound, and community intertwine, honors the DJ and producer who passed away in 2021 and helped make Rome an international benchmark for electronic culture and clubbing.

An event for Rome and the Lazio region

Organized in collaboration with the Municipio VIII, the RUFA Culture Fest is part of the vibrant cultural scene of the Ostiense district, one of the most dynamic creative hubs in the capital and the entire Lazio region. Free admission and public access make this an event designed not only for industry professionals but for the entire city, featuring international talks, workshops, and socially impactful projects, such as the one born from the collaboration with the Rebibbia prison.
