About Village Festival

Rosciano Village Festival brings the historic center of this small Abruzzo town, overlooking the Pescara Valley, to life for three nights. Organized by the Pro Loco Rosciano, the event blends local wine and olive oil tastings, live music, and folk traditions, with the highlight being the re-enactment of a traditional peasant wedding, "Lu Sposalizie de na Vote". An authentic dive into Abruzzo's rural culture, featuring stone alleys, singing, and dancing, with free admission.

A village glowing with tradition

In the heart of the Pescara province, in Abruzzo, the small town of Rosciano overlooks the Pescara River valley from its rolling hills. For three summer evenings, its historic centerโ€”a maze of stone alleys, ancient churches, and panoramic viewpointsโ€”becomes the setting for Rosciano Village Festival, a local celebration organized by the Pro Loco Rosciano to showcase and revive the area's rural soul.

Flavors, music, and folk traditions

The event aims to engage all the senses: visitors can stroll among stalls to sample local delicacies, enjoy concerts and dance performances, and get swept away by the live music that fills the evenings. The common thread is the deep bond with the land and its typical products, starting with the local wines and olive oils, which take center stage during the first evening's tastings.

"Lu Sposalizie de na Vote", the heart of the festival

The most iconic moment is the historical re-enactment "Lu Sposalizie de na Vote", or the traditional Abruzzo wedding of the past: a performance that brings to life the customs, costumes, and rituals of rural tradition, involving choral groups and folk dancers. It is a way to preserve the community's memory and pass it on to new generations through period costumes, songs, and the accordion.

A community event

Deeply rooted in the town's social fabric, the festival is brought to life by local cultural groups, such as the Coro SottolaTorre of Cepagatti and the young organetto players of Caprara, who bring the sounds of Abruzzo tradition through the alleys. Admission is free, and the atmosphere is that of a genuine village festival, where the historic center becomes an open-air stage.

Rosciano Village Festival is an appointment designed for those who want to discover the most authentic side of Abruzzo, far from the main tourist flows: good food, folklore, and hospitality in a village that deserves a visit for its historical heritage and the view over the valley.
