Three evenings of food, wine, traditions, and folklore in the historic center of Rosciano
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
In the heart of the Pescara province, in Abruzzo, the small town of Rosciano overlooks the Pescara River valley from its rolling hills. For three summer evenings, its historic centerโa maze of stone alleys, ancient churches, and panoramic viewpointsโbecomes the setting for Rosciano Village Festival, a local celebration organized by the Pro Loco Rosciano to showcase and revive the area's rural soul.
The event aims to engage all the senses: visitors can stroll among stalls to sample local delicacies, enjoy concerts and dance performances, and get swept away by the live music that fills the evenings. The common thread is the deep bond with the land and its typical products, starting with the local wines and olive oils, which take center stage during the first evening's tastings.
The most iconic moment is the historical re-enactment "Lu Sposalizie de na Vote", or the traditional Abruzzo wedding of the past: a performance that brings to life the customs, costumes, and rituals of rural tradition, involving choral groups and folk dancers. It is a way to preserve the community's memory and pass it on to new generations through period costumes, songs, and the accordion.
Deeply rooted in the town's social fabric, the festival is brought to life by local cultural groups, such as the Coro SottolaTorre of Cepagatti and the young organetto players of Caprara, who bring the sounds of Abruzzo tradition through the alleys. Admission is free, and the atmosphere is that of a genuine village festival, where the historic center becomes an open-air stage.
Rosciano Village Festival is an appointment designed for those who want to discover the most authentic side of Abruzzo, far from the main tourist flows: good food, folklore, and hospitality in a village that deserves a visit for its historical heritage and the view over the valley.
At the moment, the Pro Loco Rosciano has not yet released the official dates and program for the 2026 edition of the Rosciano Village Festival. Based on recent editions, the festival usually takes place over the first weekend of July, spanning three evenings in the village's historic center, featuring local wine and olive oil tastings, folk music, and the re-enactment of the traditional Abruzzo peasant wedding. The detailed program will be published by the organizers in the weeks leading up to the event.
The festival takes place in the historic center of Rosciano (PE), in Abruzzo, throughout the village's streets and squares.
Rosciano can be reached by car from the Pescara Valley; the reference motorway exit is Chieti-Pescara (A25), from which you continue along the provincial roads towards the hilly hinterland. The nearest train station is in the Pescara metropolitan area.
Admission to the event is free.
The event is organized by the Pro Loco Rosciano.
