The premier Italian wine fair in the heart of Rome
In the heart of Rome, along the famous Via Vittorio Veneto, the Grand Hotel The Westin Excelsior hosts Rome Wine Expo, one of the most anticipated wine events in the capital. Organized by the Riserva Grande Academy, the event transforms the hotel's elegant halls for two days into a grand tasting journey dedicated to quality wine, attracting enthusiasts, professionals, and curious visitors from across Lazio and beyond.
The core of the event is the open tasting at the counters: approximately sixty producers from various regions of Italy and the world present over three hundred labels. Visitors can move freely among the wineries, engage with winemakers, and discover diverse territories, from the great reds of South Tyrol to mountain whites, and from Tuscan Sangiovese to the amphora-aged wines of Georgia, a prominent guest of the exhibition.
Alongside the tasting counters, a series of guided masterclasses offers in-depth vertical explorations of territories and grape varieties with strong identities. Themes from recent editions have included: the great red and white wines of South Tyrol, led by expert speakers; Georgian wine, exploring qvevri amphorae and ancient traditions; and the legend of Tuscan Sangiovese, examining its archetypes between Montalcino and Chianti. There is also a segment dedicated to food and wine pairings, exploring gastronomic excellence in dialogue with the glass.
Rome Wine Expo strengthens its professional focus: morning sessions are reserved for Ho.Re.Ca. operators and specialized press, with a dedicated space for meetings between producers and buyers. In the afternoon, the halls open to the general public of enthusiasts. Starting in 2026, the event also introduces a temporary store with direct sales of wines and local products at exclusive prices, allowing visitors to take home the labels they discovered during the tasting.
Set in one of the most iconic streets of the Eternal City, the event combines wine culture with the discovery of Rome and the Lazio region. Its central location, just a short walk from Villa Borghese and the historic center, makes Rome Wine Expo an ideal occasion for wine lovers who wish to combine the tasting of great labels with a visit to the capital.
The fifth edition of Rome Wine Expo took place on Saturday, February 28, and Sunday, March 1, 2026, in the elegant halls of the Grand Hotel The Westin Excelsior, on Via Vittorio Veneto in Rome. Sixty producers from various parts of Italy and the world presented over three hundred labels at the tasting counters.
The program featured five masterclasses: the great red wines of South Tyrol (Feb 28, 2:00 PM), white wines of South Tyrol (Mar 1, 2:00 PM), Georgian wine between amphorae and ancient traditions (Feb 28, 4:30 PM), the legend of Tuscan Sangiovese (Mar 1), and a food and wine pairing journey (Feb 28, 6:30 PM). A 2026 novelty was the temporary store with direct sales.
Open tasting at the counters from 10:30 AM to 8:00 PM; morning reserved for Ho.Re.Ca. professionals and press. Temporary store with direct sales of wines and local products.
