Romantic Night in Forza d'Agrò

The Romantic Night in the Most Beautiful Villages of Italy is a national event conceived and promoted by the Association of the Most Beautiful Villages of Italy. Every year, around the summer solstice, it lights up dozens of historic centers across the peninsula to celebrate love in all its forms. Forza d'Agrò, a small medieval jewel perched above the Ionian coast in the province of Messina, participates in the event as a certified village and one of the most scenic in Sicily.

A village suspended between sea and sky

Known for its narrow alleys, sea views, and locations that have served as backdrops for famous films, Forza d'Agrò is the ideal stage for an evening centered on romance. During the Romantic Night, the village takes on an intimate and cozy atmosphere: a guided walk leads residents and visitors to discover the history and most evocative corners of the town, before the festivities move to the heart of the historic center.

Music, atmosphere, and the midnight kiss

The highlight is the evening musical performance in Piazza Giovanni XXIII, followed at the stroke of midnight by the traditional midnight kiss, the symbol of the entire event: a collective gesture that unites couples and families under the starry sky. It is this shared ritual, performed in every participating village, that makes the Romantic Night a recognizable and highly anticipated appointment throughout Italy.

A network of villages across Italy

The event involves over two hundred Italian locations every year, including about fifteen in Sicily—from Gangi to Savoca, from Petralia Soprana to Castiglione di Sicilia—united by the same annual theme and spirit. For Forza d'Agrò, the Romantic Night also represents an opportunity to promote the village and its historical and landscape heritage in the heart of the Sicilian summer season.
