The live music review that connects Recanati and Rome, from January to June
The Romanati Eternal Festival is a live music review that, from January to June, transforms Recanati โ the city of Giacomo Leopardi in the province of Macerata, in the Marche region โ into a widespread stage. Promoted by the Whats Art Association, the festival was created to connect the Recanati music scene with that of Rome, providing space for emerging singer-songwriters, bands, and collectives from the area. Not a single concert, but a journey that spans winter and spring leading up to the grand finale at the beginning of summer.
The review kicks off with a series of evenings hosted in the venues of the historic center: among the spaces involved are La Siepe, Skasa, Hotel Ginestra, Greendoor, Cafรฉ de la Paix, Cucina Niko, Caffรจ e Bistrot, Il Giovane Favoloso, and Versato. The events, with free admission, feature acoustic and electric concerts that liven up the intimate atmosphere of the city's pubs and bistros. Among the performers in the indoor evenings at Skasa were rock singer-songwriter Crista, singer-songwriter-drummer Lepre presenting the album "Eremo," and Vincenzo Destradis (De.Stradis) with his Live Club Tour.
With the arrival of good weather, the festival moves outdoors. Highlights include the event at Piazzale Giordani, featuring Francesco di Gregorio and the GRAMIGNA project accompanied by local musicians and the band Zio Pecos, and the long musical marathon at LEDA with the collective Eternal Session, formed by local musicians who emerged from this very project, featuring live music, DJ sets, and a food area. In early May, music reaches the heart of the city, in Piazza Giacomo Leopardi and the Beniamino Gigli Gardens.
The climax of the review is the two-day event on June 1st and 2nd at LEDA in Villa Musone: the park transforms into a meeting point for music, conviviality, and entertainment, with concerts ranging from folk to rock-blues to Roman tradition, a street food area, and DJ sets. The final day, coinciding with Republic Day, brings together numerous local musicians and Roman artists who have performed in Recanati venues throughout the year.
More than just a concert series, the Romanati Eternal Festival is a cultural project that promotes the independent music scene and conviviality. The initiative, organized by the Whats Art Association in collaboration with Leda and Skasa, confirms Recanati's identity as a city capable of combining its Leopardi heritage with a vibrant contemporary offering.
The 2026 edition opened its doors on January 30th with the warm-up date at La Siepe in Recanati and unfolded through the winter with indoor evenings at Skasa: Crista (February 20th), Lepre with the album "Eremo" (March 6th), and De.Stradis with the Live Club Tour (March 20th).
With spring, the festival moved outdoors: on April 6th at Piazzale Giordani (Francesco di Gregorio with GRAMIGNA and Zio Pecos) and on April 25th at LEDA with the Eternal Session collective, featuring live music and DJ sets. In early May, music reached Piazza Giacomo Leopardi and the Beniamino Gigli Gardens.
The grand finale took place on June 1st and 2nd at LEDA in Villa Musone, coinciding with Republic Day, with concerts ranging from folk to rock-blues to Roman tradition, DJ sets, and a street food area.
Recanati is reachable by car from the A14 highway, exit Loreto-Porto Recanati, and then heading inland. The nearest train station is Loreto, on the Adriatic line, connected to the town center by bus. The festival events take place in the venues of the historic center, the city squares (Piazza Giacomo Leopardi, Giardini Beniamino Gigli, Piazzale Giordani), and LEDA in Villa Musone.
Events in the historic center venues are free admission; evenings generally start around 9:00 PM - 9:30 PM. For outdoor events and the finale at LEDA, it is advisable to check times and details on the organization's channels.
