In the heart of the Castelli Romani, the Rock Festival - Arrosticino Festival has become one of the most anticipated late-summer food festivals in Ciampino, within the Metropolitan City of Rome, in the Lazio region. The event brings the best of Abruzzese culinary tradition to the city, blending it with local Lazio flavors and a rich live music program. The heart of the festival is Largo Martin Luther King, along Via Mura dei Francesi, where food stalls, refreshment points, and a concert stage alternate over three evenings.
The true king of the festival is the arrosticino, the classic sheep meat skewer hailing directly from Abruzzese tradition. In Ciampino, they are hand-cooked by the best Abruzzese chefs, following tradition and using top-quality ingredients. Alongside the arrosticini, visitors can enjoy specialties from the Castelli Romani area:
The festival pairs good food with the rock spirit that gives the event its name. Every evening, starting at 9:00 PM, the stage hosts live concerts, tributes, and DJ sets ranging from 90s and 2000s revivals to the great classics of Italian and international music. The stalls open in the late afternoon, around 6:00 PM, accompanying visitors from aperitif time until late at night in a lively, popular atmosphere.
With free admission, the Arrosticino Festival is designed for families, groups of friends, and food lovers. The area features ample dining spaces and nearby parking, making it easy to reach the event on foot. The event is organized by the L'Abruzzo incontra Roma association together with the Merchants' Association and in collaboration with the Municipality of Ciampino, and has become a reference point for those wanting to experience Abruzzese flavors without leaving the Capital.
At the moment, the organizers of L'Abruzzo incontra Roma have not yet released the official dates and program for the 2026 edition. Information will be updated as soon as it becomes available.
