Antiques, vintage, and upcycling in Rivergaro's squares
The Rivergaro Hobbyists Market is one of the most cherished events in the Val Trebbia calendar, in the province of Piacenza, in the heart of Emilia-Romagna. For an entire day, Piazza Paolo and Piazza Dante, the two central squares of the town, fill with stalls from hobbyists and exhibitors offering vintage items, modern collectibles, and upcycled pieces. It is, as the president of the Pro Loco likes to call it, a real "treasure hunt" for those looking for the right object or a memento from the past.
The formula is the simple and genuine one of village markets: stroll leisurely among the stalls, haggle, discover unexpected items. It is precisely this atmosphere that has made the market popular not only with locals from Piacenza but also with enthusiasts from outside the region.
The market is not an isolated event: it punctuates the good season in Rivergaro with multiple editions spread between spring and summer, from its opening in May to the summer events. On some days, it coincides with other village festivities: on the June 2nd edition, for example, the stalls accompany the parade of the musical band along the town's streets, on the occasion of Republic Day.
The event is organized by Pro Loco Tramballando together with the Municipality of Rivergaro. The Pro Loco is a focal point for animating the village and organizes numerous events throughout the year. Rivergaro, overlooking the Trebbia river, is a popular destination for its riverside walks and Piacenza cuisine: the market is the perfect opportunity to combine a day of second-hand shopping with a visit to the Val Trebbia area.
For 2026, the Rivergaro Hobbyists Market confirms its proven formula: hobbyists and exhibitors of antiques, vintage, and upcycling will liven up Piazza Paolo and Piazza Dante for the entire day, approximately from 7:30 AM to 6:30 PM.
The season opens on Saturday, May 2nd and continues with further dates in spring and summer. On June 2nd, for Republic Day, the market is linked to the village celebrations with the grand parade of the Vignola di Agazzano musical band: events start at 10:30 AM and continue throughout the day. The organization is curated by Pro Loco Tramballando with the Municipality of Rivergaro. Free admission.
