A popular festival for an inimitable artist
Rino Gaetano Day has become a staple of the early Roman summer: every June 2nd, the Parco Arena Rino Gaetano, located in the Montesacro-Conca d'Oro district of Rome's Municipio III, welcomes thousands of people to celebrate the memory and artistic legacy of Rino Gaetano. Established in 2011 by the artist's family, the gathering has grown into a true national event, drawing fans from all over Italy to a green space that bears the singer-songwriter's name.
The Rino Gaetano Band and special guests
The musical core of the event is the Rino Gaetano Band, the official ensemble led by his nephew Alessandro Gaetano, which brings the energy and irony of his most famous tracks back to the stage: from Ma il cielo è sempre più blu to Gianna, and from Aida to Il cielo è sempre più blu. Each edition gathers a diverse array of guests from the Italian music scene, who reinterpret Rino Gaetano's songs live in unique versions, often accompanied by moments of reflection, award ceremonies, and talks dedicated to social issues.
Free admission and a spirit of solidarity
Rino Gaetano Day has always been a free-admission event, designed as a festival open to everyone, including families. Over the years, the event has combined music with social commitment, supporting various foundations and civil causes, from gender equality to the fight against violence against women. It is a way to keep the artist's rebellious and free spirit alive—a spirit that was always attentive to the marginalized and the contradictions of society.
Rome and the Montesacro district
The choice of the Parco Arena Rino Gaetano, at Via delle Valli 171, is no coincidence: we are in the Conca d'Oro area, easily accessible via the Metro B1 line (Conca d'Oro stop), just a stone's throw from the Montesacro district where the singer-songwriter lived. For one evening, this green space becomes an open-air arena, a symbol of the deep bond between Rino Gaetano, the Capital, and the Municipality of Rome, in the Lazio region.

Rino Gaetano Day 2026 — 16th Edition
The sixteenth edition of Rino Gaetano Day took place on June 2, 2026, at the Parco Arena Rino Gaetano in Rome, in the Conca d'Oro-Montesacro area. The formula of the free national gathering was confirmed: an afternoon and evening of live music open to everyone, featuring the Rino Gaetano Band led by his nephew Alessandro Gaetano and a long list of guests. The 2026 edition had a strong focus on solidarity, supporting the Fondazione Una Nessuna Centomila, and provided a platform for the new female singer-songwriter scene through the national contest Permette Signorina?. The event was broadcast live by Rai Radio Tutta Italiana, the official radio partner.

June 2, 2026 — Parco Arena Rino Gaetano
- From 5:30 PM — Opening by Lunatika Factory featuring the voices of the national contest Permette Signorina?, dedicated to the new female singer-songwriter scene: Maria Faiola, Lara Dei, Marta La Noce, and Alessandra Rugger. Hosted by Metis Di Meo.
- 8:00 PM — Institutional greetings, with a speech by Alessandro Onorato, Councilor for Major Events, Tourism, Sport, and Fashion of Rome Capital.
- From 9:00 PM — Concert by the Rino Gaetano Band, the official ensemble led by Alessandro Gaetano with Michele Amadori, Alberto Lombardi, Ivan Almadori, Fabio Fraschini, and Marco Rovinelli.
Special guests on stage
During the concert, numerous artists took turns reinterpreting the singer-songwriter's tracks in unique versions: Fasma, Giulia Mei, Danielle, Davide De Luca, Diana Tejera, Vanessa Cremaschi, Artù, and Primogenito.
Event broadcast live on Rai Radio Tutta Italiana, the official radio of the festival. Partner of the edition: MEI - Meeting degli Indipendenti.

Free, no ticket required. Live music generally starts in the late afternoon, from around 5:30 PM.
Tips
As this is a popular open-air event, it is best to arrive early to secure a spot near the stage and bring water during the hot early June days.
