Reggae, dancehall, and dub in Rome, between the Città dell'Altra Economia in Testaccio and the former Centocelle Airport
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The RIF - Reggae Italian Festival is a Roman event entirely dedicated to reggae music, born from the experience of the Arci Rising Love club. Dancehall, dub, roots, and Caribbean sounds filtered through the Italian scene come together in a series of open-air summer evenings designed as popular celebrations and meeting points for diverse audiences. Over the years, the festival has established itself as one of the most iconic reggae events in the Capital.
RIF evenings have taken place between the Città dell'Altra Economia in the Testaccio district (Largo Dino Frisullo, within the former Mattatoio complex) and the former Centocelle Airport, home to the Roma Vintage event along Via Casilina. Two distinct yet complementary locations: on one hand, the historic and underground heart of Testaccio; on the other, the vast green spaces of Centocelle, both located in the Municipality of Rome, in the Lazio region.
The festival's historic program has alternated between live concerts, DJ sets, and sound systems, showcasing some of the most beloved names in Italian reggae. Throughout its editions, RIF has hosted artists such as Brusco, Mellow Mood, Villa Ada Posse, and numerous crews from the local scene, featuring vinyl selections, live performances, and fusions with hip-hop and world music.
Beyond the music, RIF has always offered a range of activities: street art exhibitions, charity auctions, street food, and craft stalls. It is no coincidence that one of the venues is the Città dell'Altra Economia, a symbolic place for solidarity-based economy and ethical consumption in Rome: the festival thus combines the energy of reggae with a clear vision of participatory and accessible culture.
In the summer of 2026, the Città dell'Altra Economia returns as a reference point for reggae thanks to the Testaccio Estate series, which brings names like Mellow Mood (July 16, 2026) and Sud Sound System (July 30-31, 2026) to the Testaccio stage. Official confirmation of a new RIF edition under the Rising Love brand, with its historic five evenings between Testaccio and Centocelle, is still pending: it is recommended to check dates and line-ups on the club's channels before planning your visit.
