A journey into Norman Molise
The Rievocazione storica Rodolfo de Moulins is one of the most heartfelt events of the summer in Bojano, in the province of Campobasso. The event celebrates the figure of Rodolfo de Moulins, a Norman nobleman who around 1053 conquered the area and founded the County of Bojano: with the Treaty of Silva Marca in 1142, that county would become the County of Molise, and the entire region would take its name from the de Moulins lineage.
The setting of Civita Superiore
Everything takes place in the evocative village of Civita Superiore, the ancient medieval nucleus perched above Bojano, dominated by the ruins of the castle. In Piazza Belvedere and among the alleys of the village, period spaces are set up with workshops, encampments, games, and artisan shops.

The Association Rodolfo de Moulins Conte di Bojano, registered with the RUNTS, organizes the event annually with the patronage of the Ministry of Culture. The re-enactment is part of a broader project to enhance the medieval history of Molise, supported by the Region, which has established an annual celebration dedicated to the Norman count on August 22nd.

The 24th edition returns to the village of Civita Superiore, in Piazza Belvedere in front of the ruins of the de Moulins castle. The Association Rodolfo de Moulins Conte di Bojano is reintroducing the proven format: opening of the medieval village, workshops and role-playing games, falconry, archery, flag wavers, and the evening historical parade with the Norman court.
The Molise Region has established by law an annual celebration dedicated to Rodolfo de Moulins on August 22nd, with conferences, historical research, and educational workshops in local schools.

The detailed program for the 24th edition will be announced by the Rodolfo de Moulins Association in the weeks preceding the event. Based on recent editions, the day typically includes:
- Afternoon — Guided excursion "The Norman Paths" departing from Piazza Roma
- Late Afternoon — Opening of the medieval village of Civita Superiore with role-playing games
- Evening — Falconry, wheelbarrow race, archery, and flag wavers
- Night — Historical parade and re-enactment of Count Rodolfo de Moulins' deeds within the castle walls

How to get there
Bojano can be reached from the SS17 and the Campobasso-Isernia railway line. Civita Superiore is located above the town: it is advisable to walk up following the signs from the center.
Tips
Wear comfortable shoes and bring a jacket for the evening, when temperatures at altitude drop. Free admission.
