The jazz festival spread across the historic villages of Molise, including Baranello
Borgo in Jazz is a widespread festival that, every summer, ignites the historic centres of Molise with music. Founded in 2014 by the young Molise musician Nicola Concettini along with a group of local professionals, the event combines the enhancement of villages with the promotion of jazz and contemporary art.
The festival involves a network of municipalities in the province of Campobasso and surrounding areas — including Campobasso, Casacalenda, Gambatesa, Morcone, Pietracupa, Ripalimosani, Spinete, and Baranello. The latter, known as the town of Giuseppe Barone, from the monumental fountain dedicated to the goddess Ceres to the masterpieces in the Civic Museum, is one of the most evocative stops of the festival.
Each concert is also an invitation to discover the village hosting it: squares, open spaces, and historic buildings become intimate stages where you can listen to big names in national and international jazz, often accompanied by local food and wine offerings. A model of cultural tourism that has made Borgo in Jazz one of the most recognizable events of the Molise musical summer.
The XI edition of Borgo in Jazz returns in Summer 2026 with a widespread program of 15 concerts spread across the historic villages of Molise. Baranello is also among the participating municipalities, confirming its role as a stop on the festival. The stage will feature prominent names in Italian and international jazz, in a schedule that combines great music and discovery of the territory.
15 concerts in the historic villages of Molise, including Baranello, Campobasso, Spinete, Ripalimosani, Casacalenda, Gambatesa, Morcone, and Pietracupa.
Among the announced artists: Rosario Giuliani, Addison Frei, Mario Corvini Big Band, Daniele Tittarelli, Fabio Zeppetella, Luca Mannutza, and Lorenzo Tucci.
The precise dates for each stop, including Baranello, will be published on the official website borgoinjazzfestival.it.
Baranello is about 15 km from Campobasso along the SS17. The other stops are distributed in the villages of the province of Campobasso; the complete program with dates and venues is published on the official website.
Many concerts of the widespread festival are free admission; for events requiring booking, consult the official website borgoinjazzfestival.it.
