Corsico's June 2nd Celebration

The Italian Republic Day is one of the most important civic holidays on the national calendar, and in Corsico, a city in the Metropolitan City of Milan, it is celebrated with a public ceremony in Via Cavour, in front of the picturesque Fontana dell'Incontro (Fountain of the Encounter), the civic heart of the city.

Citizenship and the Constitution

The most significant moment of the ceremony is the presentation of the Constitution to the new 18-year-olds of Corsico: a symbolic gesture by which the city welcomes its young citizens into the full enjoyment of their rights and duties. On the same occasion, certificates are awarded to students from the city's schools who have distinguished themselves in civic education programs and initiatives related to democracy.

The Concert by the Musical Corps

The ceremony concludes with the concert by the Corpo Musicale Città di Corsico, the town band that has always accompanied the institutional and festive moments of the community. Music transforms the official commemoration into a participatory event open to all, where civic sense combines with the convivial atmosphere of the public square.

A Shared Commemoration

The Republic Day in Corsico is organized by the Municipality and represents a fixed event on June 2nd, capable of attracting citizens of all ages. In case of bad weather, the ceremony moves indoors to the Teatro San Luigi on Via Dante.
