The traditional Garda bisse rowing race in Cisano di Bardolino
The Regata delle Bisse – Bandiera del Lago celebrates one of the oldest and most defining traditions of Lake Garda: the bisse, the typical rowing boats on which rowers row standing up, a legacy of centuries of lake life. The race takes place in Cisano, a hamlet of Bardolino (province of Verona, Veneto).
The event is part of the circuit of bisse races on Lake Garda, which pits rowers from different lakeside towns against each other every summer. The "Bandiera del Lago" (Flag of the Lake) is the trophy at stake, contested along the stretch of water in front of Cisano.
Organized by the A.S. Lega Bisse del Garda with the Centro Nautico Bardolino and recognized by the FICSF (Italian Federation of Fixed-Seat Rowing), the race combines the sporting dimension with the cultural one, keeping alive a practice that belongs to the identity of the Garda communities.
The 2nd edition of the Regata delle Bisse – Bandiera del Lago took place on May 30, 2026, in Cisano, a hamlet of Bardolino. The traditional bisse of Garda competed on the stretch of water in front of the hamlet, vying for the "Bandiera del Lago". The event was organized by A.S. Lega Bisse del Garda with the Centro Nautico Bardolino, under the auspices of the FICSF.
The official announcement with registrations, categories, times, and technical regulations is published on the FICSF website.
Cisano di Bardolino can be reached by car from the A4 motorway (exits Affi or Peschiera del Garda). The race takes place on the stretch of water in front of the hamlet.
Free event for the public, visible from the shores of Cisano.
