Edition 2025 — Radici Vive
The 2025 edition of Radici Vive brought three events dedicated to community food rituals to the historic center of Putignano. From bread to sauce to the grape harvest, the initiative involved citizens and visitors in rediscovering traditional gestures of Apulian rural culture, amidst manual skills, historic ovens, and moments of shared storytelling.
Radici Vive 2025: three rituals, one community
The first edition of Radici Vive took place in Putignano in 2025 with three events marked by the cycle of the seasons, all set in the historic center. The project, curated by the associations Impara l'Arte APS and Lavori dal Basso APS, transformed squares, ovens, and cellars into places of living memory and participation.
- June 21 — Grano Vivo: the bread ritual, with shared bread-making and a tribute to the town's ancient ovens.
- July 19 — Rosso Vivo: the tomato sauce ritual, prepared together in the square according to the Apulian summer tradition.
- September 13: the grape harvest ritual, with grape treading and the ancient gestures of harvesting.
Each stage combined manual practice and moments of discussion, enhancing typical products and the intangible heritage of the Putignano territory.
