The Polegge Festival
Polegge in Festa is the festival that enlivens the Polegge neighborhood, on the northern outskirts of Vicenza, every early summer. It takes place at the Sports Field and Parish Center and is organized by the parish of San Giovanni Evangelista, as part of the Fuori Porta San Bortolo Pastoral Unit. A community celebration that brings together families, young people, and residents of the area.
The Fritola di Polegge
The specialty that gives the festival its identity is the Fritola di Polegge, a traditional fried dessert that is the true star of the celebration each year. The food stand also offers first courses such as bigoli and gnocchi (with ragù, tomato sauce, or duck sauce) and mixed grills with sausages and pork ribs.
