Contemporary authorial poetry in the Foyer of the Pedrini Theatre
Poetico. Festival of Authorial Poetry is an itinerant review dedicated to contemporary poetry which, on its stop in Brisighella, brings the voice of the most recognized Italian poets to the famous medieval village in the Province of Ravenna. The meetings take place in the Foyer of the Pedrini Theatre, an intimate and evocative space in the historic center, at the foot of the Clock Tower and the Manfrediana Fortress that dominate one of the most beautiful villages in Italy.
Conceived and promoted by the Metropolis cultural association with the artistic direction of Marco Colonna — writer, poet, and journalist — Poetico is a widespread event that spans ten appointments in nine municipalities in the provinces of Ravenna and Forlì-Cesena: in addition to Brisighella, the festival touches Forlì, Ravenna, Forlimpopoli, Meldola, Castrocaro Terme-Terra del Sole, Predappio, Modigliana, and Santa Sofia. The project was created to celebrate poetry as authentic artistic creation and to investigate the links between poetic word and visual arts, with the collaboration of the Teatro delle Forchette association and the support of the Fondazione Cassa dei Risparmi di Forlì.
Each evening is built around a nationally renowned poet, presented and discussed live. Among the protagonists of recent editions are names such as Gian Ruggero Manzoni, Antonella Anedda, Stefano Dal Bianco, Silvia Bre, and Sonia Gentili. The meetings combine readings, book presentations, and conversations that bring the public closer to today's poetry in an informal and participatory atmosphere.
At the heart of the review is also a national poetry competition for published works, with a jury of poets and critics and cash prizes awarded to the top three finishers. The winners are announced at the festival's closing event, hosted in Santa Sofia, crowning a journey that makes Romagna a crossroads of contemporary Italian poetry.
The Brisighella stop is a precious opportunity to discover authorial poetry in one of the most fascinating places in Emilia-Romagna, combining a walk through the village with an evening dedicated to words and beauty.
The fourth event of the second edition of Poetico. Festival of Authorial Poetry, the Brisighella stop took place on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 6:00 PM in the Foyer of the Pedrini Theatre.
The protagonist of the evening was Gian Ruggero Manzoni — poet, narrator, painter, playwright, and performer — who presented his work Nel lento movimento dei ghiacci (2024, puntoacapo Editrice), three prose poems on universal themes such as origin, the meaning of life, and human destiny. Marco Colonna, artistic director of the festival, engaged in dialogue with the author.
The meeting, with free admission, was part of the widespread program of Poetico across the provinces of Ravenna and Forlì-Cesena, promoted by the Metropolis association.
Brisighella can be reached by car from the Via Emilia (SS9) exiting towards Faenza and following signs for the Lamone Valley. By train, Brisighella station is on the Faenza-Florence line; the Foyer of the Pedrini Theatre is a short walk from the historic center.
