Pizza Fest 2025: The inaugural edition
From October 17th to 19th, 2025, Piazza XIX Maggio in Gaeta hosted the first edition of Pizza Fest — A slice of history, promoted by the Lazio Region and ARSIAL in partnership with the Municipality of Gaeta, with the involvement of the Pro Loco and the local catering school.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony took place on Friday the 17th at 6:00 PM in the Sfera Dome with Nicola "Tinto" Prudente, host of Linea Verde on Rai 1, followed by a discussion on the global evolution of pizza with food critic Luciano Pignataro and a masterclass by Marco Quintili. On Saturday the 18th, the debate on DOP and IGP products moderated by Barbara Politi preceded the masterclass on tiella di Gaeta with Carlo Avallone and the pizza session with Errico Porzio, closing with a comedy show by Vincenzo De Lucia. On Sunday the 19th, after the debate on food and wine tourism with Monica Caradonna, Avallone and pizza chef Salvatore Lionello took the stage, with a finale featuring rock tributes to Queen, Genesis, and Pink Floyd.
Admission was free for all three days.
